Focus of Working

The Working Group ‘Digital Orchards’ has the intention to improve information exchange and collaboration between fruit research institutes with the aim to accelerate the implementation of precision agriculture techniques by European fruit farmers. We integrate and connect various data derived from weather stations, (remote) sensing of soil, plants or fruits and translate them into actions applicable for the fruit grower. Such actions comprise task maps which can be used to command robots or machinery. As the scope of the Working Group is very broad, a first focus was defined: robotisation and the adaptation of orchard architecture accordingly.
